Vicar
Steven Summerlot,
his wife Lisa, and sons Matthew, and Micah
My family and I are very excited
about coming to Union Grove. I am writing you to tell you a little
about our family. I was born in Traverse City, MI and moved to Indianapolis, IN
when I was two. I lived in Indy for 21 years where I went to IUPUI and majored
in Philosophy while competing in cross-country and swimming. I joined the active
Army after 9/11. Lisa and I got married and we moved to Clarksville, TN. While
stationed at Fort Campbell, KY I deployed to Iraq for a year twice over my 5
years of service with a Black Hawk helicopter unit. I am completely finished
with the military now since I had two years previously, right out of high
school, with the Marine Corps Reserve as well as drilling with a National Guard
Unit for a year in Fort Wayne during my first year of classes at the Seminary.
Vicar Paul Doellinger, his wife Melissa
Our fifth vicar, Paul Doellinger, arrived in August, 2008,
to begin his one
year of vicarage at St. Paul's.
Vicar
Bruce
Milash, his wife Linda, and daughter Sarah.
Vicar Stephen Rutherford.
Our third vicar, Stephen, will arrived in July, 2006, to begin his one year
of vicarage at St. Paul's. Stephen was very involved in different aspects
of ministry at St. Paul's. He left in August of 2007 to return to St. Louis
Seminary to finish his last year of studies.
Vicar Matt Peters, his wife Meghan and son, Benjamin.
Our second vicar, Matt, started his vicarage with us in July, 2005. He came
to us from Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Along
with his "vicar duties", Matt was also very involved in the Youth Group of
our congregation. He also worked closely with the Evangelism Committee. His
year of vicarage will end in July, 2006, and he will return to St. Louis for
his final year of school. In August of 2007, Matt was installed as
Assistant Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake, Ohio.
Vicar Dan Redhage, his wife Amy, son David and daughter Sarah.
Dan began in July, 2004, as St. Paul's first Vicar. He came
to us from Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He spent a
year here under Pastor Keuch's tutelage. Amy was also active in the church.
She was an accomplished violinist and was able to play for the congregation on
numerous occasions. She also taught the violin to students during the year they
were in Union Grove. In July of 2005, Dan finished his year of vicarage and
returned to Ft. Wayne Seminary to finish his last year of school. After
returning to Ft. Wayne, Amy gave birth to their third child, Michael. In April
of 2006 he was given his first parish. He will be the pastor of a dual parish -
one in Hurley, South Dakota and one in Centerville, South Dakota. His
installation will be July 2, 2006 in Hurley, South Dakota.
